Here's a no-brainer, take a cartoonist with a flair for humorous illustration (that would be Sals Bostwick) and let him fill a page with a bunch of gag panels. Bostwick gives us recurring features such as The Bunk Degree Artist and Little Things That Start Big Wars. There's even some continuity as we follow Floradora Love to California in her quest to become a Hollywood Sensation. But don't forget those titular "heroes" such as Johnny Jackass, the bill collector who calls on his prospective father-in law or Oscar Whist, the sailor who spends his shore leave in the public library.
