Presenting H.B. Martin's It Happened in Birdland. In the history of comics there have been plenty of lovable feathered characters, though I'm not sure I'd hasten to add the cast of Birdland to that list. In fact, there's something about these birds that creeps me out a little. I can't quite put my finger on it, though to be fair, Martin certainly gives them a unique look. The strip mostly follows Bill Jones in his attempts to woo a lady bird who frankly appears to be interested in anyone but him. Gotta give the strip points for an uncharacteristic outing calling for support of women's suffrage.
